This is a great idea. I love it that there are so many people that understand that we need to give back to our military. They protect us, we need to take care of them.

The Defense Centers of Excellence (DCoE) for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury contains a component called the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC): http://www.dvbic.org/ . DVBIC mission is "to serve active duty military, their dependents and veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) through state-of-the-art medical care, innovative clinical research initiatives and educational programs.

Also, DCoE stood up a 24/7 outreach center to help service members and their families get answers about traumatic brain injury. Those interested in reaching the center can call (866) 966-1020.

Hi Christina Pillow Lady,
I like to thank you for being a brave and courageous mother and your son for fighting for our freedom.

Thank you so much for taking your precious time to get in touch with me. Your kind words and compassion are immeasurable. The pillows that you write about sound beautiful and if your offer still stands I would be honored to have one in honor of Gasper. Boy would he be so proud and happy to know that there are so many beautiful people in the world. I miss him and wish he were here to see all of this!! If you don't mind, I have attached a little story about how I came to meet and care for Gasper. I truly was, is and always will be my honor and privilege to know and care for him. Just wish I had known him longer. I would not have done a thing differently. If I had the chance, I'd do it all over again!!

You said that your son is in Afghanistan. If at all possible, can you send me an address for him there. I send packages every few weeks to soldiers in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. I would love to send him and his troops some stuff. I started doing this a year ago when I "adopted" 850 troops serving overseas through the "My Soldier "program. It is my way of saying thank you to so much men and women who are willing to lay down their lives for our freedom. God Bless you and your family.

Once again, thank you for your kind words and thoughts. You can reach me at any time at the number below. My phone is always on so please do not hesitate to call.
